Chittorgarh Fort, Chittaurgarh
The Chittorgarh Fort has gained the title of the largest fort in India and the most dignified in the state of Rajasthan. The Fort is located at a distance of 112km from Udaipur and was built on a high hill near the Gambheri River in Chittaurgarh, Rajasthan. It was built by various Maurya rulers in 7th century A.D. The key highlights to marvel are its numerous palaces and towers inside the fort.
Amer Fort, Jaipur
The Amer Fort is located at Amber which is nearly 10 kilometers away from Jaipur and is one of the most famous forts of Rajasthan. The fort was built by Raja Man Singh in 1592 AD and was renovated by Jai Singh I. The fort is also famous as Amber Fort and the key highlight of the fort is is its Maotha Lake. The palace displays an amalgamation of both Hindu and Muslim architecture.
Mehrangarh Fort, Jodhpur
The Mehrangarh Fort is one of the largest and the most magnificent forts in Jodhpur and whole of Rajasthan. The fort is situated on a 150 meters high hill and was built by Rao Jodha in 1459. This fort beholds quite an interesting history and many attractions that includes numerous palaces inside the fort, their courtyards. The Royal Throne of Jodpur is also housed in one of the fort’s palaces.
Jaisalmer Fort, Jaisalmer
The Jaisalmer Fort is counted as one of the grandest fort in the world which certainly makes it worth a visit. The fort is mainly built with the sand stones and locally popular as Sonar Quila. This fort is the key highlight of the city of Jaisalmer that attracts its visitors at a very large number. The fort is so huge that even today one fourth of the old city’s population resides within the fort. The fort is a treasure chest of the heritage of the amazing city of Jaisalmer.
Hawa Mahal, Jaipur
The Hawa Mahal is the most renowned palace of Rajasthan. The Palace is also famous as Palace of Winds and it is the most famous tourist attraction of Jaipur as well as Rajasthan. The fort was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799 and was designed by al Chand Ustad in the form of the crown of Krishna, the Hindu god. The Hawa Mahal is famous for its unique architecture that includes its magnificent five-storey exterior that resembles to the honeycomb of the beehive which has 953 small windows called jharokhas that are beautifully decorated.
